From the Desk of Shanon Davis, CEO — American Alternative Assets
You know, I was reading the morning financial reports today while having my coffee, and something caught my attention that I think regular Americans need to understand.
Gold just dropped 8% since this Iran situation started heating up. Now, you might think that’s normal during a crisis, but here’s what doesn’t make sense — we’re also seeing jobless claims tick up to 214,000 while everyone’s talking about how “stable” the job market is.
I’ve been in this business long enough to recognize patterns. Back in 2008, we saw the same thing. Surface-level stability while warning signals flashed underneath. The Fed is holding rates at 3.75%, Kevin Warsh (the Fed nominee) won’t promise rate cuts, and oil-driven inflation fears are mounting. Meanwhile, traditional safe-haven assets like gold are acting anything but safe.
It’s not that hard to connect the dots when you’ve seen this movie before. We had the tech bubble in 2000, the housing crisis in 2008, the pandemic market chaos in 2020, and now we’re watching what I call the “Big Beautiful Bubble” pattern form again. Geopolitical tensions meet economic uncertainty, and precious metals start sending mixed signals.
What worries me is that regular Americans approaching retirement are getting caught off guard again. They’re watching gold trade around $4,729 today, down from recent highs, and thinking “maybe I missed my chance.” But smart money knows that volatility creates opportunity, not panic.
Look, I’m not here to sell you anything. I’m here to tell you what I’m seeing from my desk. The same convergence patterns that preceded major market corrections are forming again. The difference between people who protect their wealth and those who lose it often comes down to one thing: education.
You can’t stop market cycles, but you can position yourself to benefit from them instead of being their victim. The question isn’t whether another correction is coming — it’s whether you understand what’s happening well enough to make smart decisions for your family.
Got questions? Give us a call. Get educated. Then decide for yourself.
